"... it's very 'here and now' and 'tomorrow'. ...it's not retrospective in any way, it's more 'prospective'. ...This must be one of the most interesting releases this year... " ---MovingHands.net
The Maschine Made Flesh is the title of Pittsburgh artist Jacob.R.Ross's experimental electronic project. Citing his major influences as Skinny Puppy/Download, Frontline Assembly, NIN, and ReCoil, TMMF produces sonic landscapes that bare little resemblence to the "Four on the floor" techno-industrial heard in danceclubs. Ross approaches his music as progressions of mood and sculpture, blending mutilated samples and skull-crushing rhythms with a musician's sensibilty.
This is not music to get the party started.
This is music to burn it down.
ORDER is the first in a three disc cycle, to be followed by CHAOS and NIHIL, in due course. Each disc is an enhanced CD, containing a seperate chapter of the original graphic novel: SUBTERRA. Written, illustrated and digitally assembled by Ross, SubTerra is a vision of a dark future, where humankind is entombed underground, and the only escape from its techno-fascist government is death.
This enhanced CD is self-rated "M"(mature) for violence, profanity and lots and lots of blood. (30 pages, with additional production drawings and TMMF digital liner notes; requires shockwave plugin, compatible with Mac and PC)
