Album Notes

After working on the “All Gone Fishin’” CD this past year with George Jones, Merle Haggard, Tanya Tucker, Brad Paisley and the like, it became clear to me that the name of my former band the “World’s Greatest Fishing Band” should forever be attached to those country legends and the “All Gone Fishin’” CD.

So when I headed in to the studio to record a new CD with John Prine's guitarist, Jason Wilber, three members of Patty Loveless' band, Jimmy Johnson, Martin Parker and Marcia Ramirez, and two veterans of the Grand 'Ole Opry, Mike Baker and Tim Atwood, I understood that a new chapter in the "fishing band" was beginning and ending.

Such was the birth of the "Thursday Night Fishing Club", my new band and CD for 2007. While "All Gone Fishin'" was mostly stone cold country, the new CD is much more Americana in feel. It has some Jimmy Buffet flavor, some John
Mellencamp-style rockers and Springsteen flavored acoustic tunes, some Texas swing-even a Venture's style surf song ("Surfishin' USA") Enjoy!

Best fishes!
