Album Notes

Dylan had Freewheelin', Neil had Harvest...

An album one year in the making, Mercury Rising examines the core of folk rock music. Recorded entirely on a four-track TASCAM 424 it is a statement of simplicity in music. The songs are original, live and above all, real. There are eleven songs on the record, each a journey in itself. It is the debut record from the future leader of modern music.

Pittsburgh native, Todd Edwards, has done in Mercury Rising what other masters have done before him. And in doing so, has found some of the real roots in the folk-rock movement. Get back to basics with Todd Edwards on Mercury Rising. Other albums will follow, but no other will ever be the first.

"The path I took is scarred, and the gravel lies beneath my skin, frame of references are lyin' within,... welcome to the dark side of this road." -Todd Edwards, Mercury Rising

After listening to the record a few times, one may generally appreciate the sounds--but upon closer review, one may find that the sounds reveal a deeper reality: an American dream gone rotten. Hunter S. Thompson would raise his glass to this album, just as I am doing right now.
