This is what the concert-goer and music buyers are saying about Australian pianist, Barry Tognolini. His piano arrangements and powerful performances have established him as unique performer in many parts of the world. His CD’s have been known to have permanent residence in people's players at work, at home, or in the car … and his fans have every CD he’s recorded ! Barry is as comfortable performing for 10,000 as he is to an intimate gathering of 10 for a special dinner, cocktail party, wedding or private concert.

What makes Barry’s music so different ? His sensitivity and depth of feeling blended with power and passion for what he is playing. These qualities when combined with his amazing arrangements of the well known as well as his original compositions, take the listener on an incredible musical journey. Being raised in a home where his mother used to play piano, Barry began lessons when he was 8 years old and at the tender age of thirteen, he became a regular guest on a TV variety program showcasing young talent in Perth, Western Australia – his hometown. His live performances since then have included concerts before tens of thousands to cabaret shows, intimate private weddings, parties and special dinners for Royalty, Parliamentarians and Heads of State. He has even had the honor of performing with Celine Dion in a concert for children in Perth, Western Australia.

Barry was also the first Australian to be invited to perform for the Aga Khan at his famed resort, the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, Italy. After this 5 month season he returned to Australia. It was, however, not long before he was then flown to Washington DC for the first of two surprise birthday parties for fans in the USA. In Australia he was now being referred to as their “pianist to the rich and famous”.

On his return to Perth and at the request of his many fans Barry recorded his first CD. Several months after its launch, significantly high sales volume attracted the attention of Sony Music Australia and Barry was immediately contracted to them. He became Sony’s first contemporary-pop pianist signed to the label.

His second album, was released twelve months later. The album, " Now And Then " peaked at #11 on the music charts within weeks … a feat not often seen with an instrumental album. Barry then went on to record his third album “Just Me” as a result of so many requests from fans to record a solo piano album. To celebrate it’s launch, Barry performed his first headlining concert in the Perth Concert Hall to a sell-out Mother’s Day audience. Later that year he ventured overseas once again performing in various parts of Europe and the USA. For Barry, the most memorable performance of this tour was a concert in Tirano - a little village high up in the Italian Alps where his ancestors once lived.

A Christian recording, “ The Power And The Glory ”, and “Just Me At Christmas” were recorded just prior to Barry joining the QE2 as a guest entertainer. His popularity with the passengers resulted in him performing also for Princess Cruises on a number of ships in various parts of the world and yet another gala birthday party for a fan in Florida. Later that same year Barry was a special guest at the Premier’s Concerts in the Sydney Entertainment Center … an event that attracted over 35,000 patrons at three concerts.

After another Mother’s Day concert, this time in Houston, Texas, Barry decided to move to the USA. Following a very successful tour with the African Children’s Choir in Malaysia, Barry began residing in New York. Since then, he has been traveling the world as a guest performer for the luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises as well as performing at numerous events throughout the USA. He continues to write, arrange and record music from his newly adopted home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Barry’s latest recording project – "Treasure Road", is a 24-track Double CD collection featuring a blend of solo piano, orchestrated, well known and original compositions. The launch, featured on the QVC shopping network, was received with wonderful response throughout the USA.

Barry enjoys playing a varied program of music encompassing powerful and unique arrangements of ballads from movies and musicals, emotional and thought provoking original compositions, a little ragtime and occasionally some light classical.
