Blues with a garage band sensibility
author: Ken Zeringue
Anyone thinking of going to Thibodaux, LA should listen to the Tokyo Tramps song "Thibodaux, Louisiana". This song encapsulates the feeling of xenophobia you may experience there. Although the local university is not mentioned by name, you can be sure it is referenced in spirit.
The song "Bound for Glory" is a more up-beat view on life. The song captures the blues with a garage band sensibility. If you are looking for some good guitar licks, you can find them here.
The playing on the album is spirited and energetic. The album as a whole reverberates with solid guitar work and driving drum beats. It is a band of no small talent. However, keep looking if you are looking for instrumental virtuosity as heard on Delta Blues standards.
