The Priest and the Acrobat
Be it at wakes, weddings, christenings or funerals, so frequently does chaos rear its head in the day-to-day lives of the ordinary people in the remote parish of Teampall an Ghleanntáin that it becomes almost the natural order of things. Even Father Tom, the local parish priest of forty years standing, finds himself engulfed in it - - in the shapely form of a female acrobat who is performing with a visiting circus.
Storyteller Tomáseen Foley was born on a small farm in Teampall an Ghleanntáin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. He says, " The stories I tell today, and the shows I help create, all fell into my lap from the simple table of communal life in that small place". Tomáseen brings it to life for audiences throughout the U.S. with his touring shows, Tomáseen Foley's A Celtic Christmas, and Irish Times.
