take cover!
is the follow-up cd to a tune in the "Autumn Dancing" album entitled, 'The Environmental Drums Of Earth' and, because I didn't want to get to get political about such an organic issue I made an album of cover tunes which have a lot of feeling and a message to those listening to the INNER SOUND.
It's like that doggy listening to the ol' Victrola ...,ya know, hearing the master's voice. Just looking for those who can hear this message to TAKE COVER! A BAD vibe this way comes! Wanted to help block out the DISTRACTION and remind whomever hears, where the BETTER Path is we were on!
Note that Autumn Dancing was revised as, "time, lapsed" and is the same material.
Just for fun and to keep myself being creative while aging..., I wanted to do an album of more familiar songs and these came out of me first.
Just one guy on a Rockin' Roland Fantom Piano with a pc and all the high-tech companies ready to share in this clamor to be heard. The microphone actual records into the piano! I wanted the "real person" sound, not studio mastered..., got it (ha ha ha). It's fun but a lot of work.
It goes from Roy Orbison's Gotta Move (made known by Jerry Lee Lewis) to Bertha (Grateful Dead), Gypsy Cowboy (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Indian Sunset (Elton John/Bernie Taupin),(Grateful Dead's)Uncle John's Band, (JJ Cales') Call Me The Breeze, Runaway Train (Soul Asylum), (Van Morrison's) Have I Told you Lately, You Don't Know Me was recorded by (Ray Charles), Wid Horses was originally (Rolling Stones), As The World Falls Down (From Labyrinth with David Bowie),
and finally my version of (Jackson Browne's)Lights And virtues)....
Now I can work on Vol. II and maybe get back to some originals, again this was a lot of work and I may need a rest.I do digital art for the covers which I may post some variations at my link. see www.circleblue.net Thanks!
