The Window project was a culmination of Tom's best written songs, to date, from the beginning of his career as a Singer/Songwriter, as well as songs from Bill Ingram and Everett Keener. The original album was released in 1991 and became a great promotional tool for Tom's career, selling well at live shows and a few stores in the Denver area and also at Tower Records in Nashville. This project was Produced and Recorded entirely at FTM Studios in Denver, Colorado by Tom Chapman, with Jeff Shuey engineering.
Jeff was the engineer for all of the Capitol Gains sessions, starting in 1986, and Tom loved working with Jeff and his great ear. He also has a great Mastering facility where Tom does all of his Mastering, including "The Window." Jeff has Mastered albums for Willie Nelson, Firefall, Dotsero and numerous others with several being nominated for Grammy's, so Jeff is a valued part of the overall Triac quality of product. "The Window" was recorded with some of the finest musicians that Tom has worked with in his career.
Everett Keener played some of the Electric Lead Guitars, as well as some of the Bass tracks, which Tom did the rest of the Bass tracks. Everett also wrote the song, "Listen." Greg Howe played the drums and Glenn Taylor played the Pedal Steel. Matthew Frucht played the violin on the song, "The Window." Bill Ingram wrote the songs "Somewhere My Lady" and "Lucky's The Lady." He is one of Tom's favorite songwriters who Tom has an entire album of his songs planned in the near future, tentatively titled, "TOM CHAPMAN - THE COLORADO POET."
Also a great guitar player that Tom has played with since back in the 70's. While in Nashville, Tom took some advice from some industry people and Re-Mastered "The Window," for more commercial appeal. The original re-lease had songs that were too long for commercial radio so Tom Re-Mastered the entire album, with Jeff Shuey, making all the songs about 3 minutes long and a new EQ that sounds even better than the original. This will be Re-Leased before the 2nd CD is finished, as the final version of "THE WINDOW." The original will be a limited edition, which is still my preferred version, but the new version is going to be Re-leased nationally.
The new Album Project, "TOM CHAPMAN - IF I LEFT TODAY" is being Mixed Down and will be completed by the middle of August! We've transferred all the songs and are working on the Mixes in the next couple of weeks and it's sounding GREAT! 16 new songs, 32 Tracks and Jeff Shuey is working his magic to make it sound GREAT!!! It will be available here as soon as it's ready for distribution!
