Tom Dempsey and Tim Ferguson's newest project "Perspectives" is the natural succession of these two musicians longtime associations. Since meeting in 1988 Dempsey and Ferguson have been working together on a variety of projects for over ten years. They have toured the US and Europe together in duo and trio formats but their new project offers insight into the artistry of these two musicians individually and together.

Both Dempsey and Ferguson have been active New York jazz musicians for many years. Dempsey has worked with such musicians as Dave Brubeck, Jim Hall, George Coleman, Roy Haynes, Kenny Barron, and Jack McDuff. He is also active in the show biz guitar world working on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" and performing with a number Broadway shows including "Bring in 'da Noise, Bring In 'da Funk", "Aida", "Momma Mia" and "Beauty and the Beast". A versatile guitarist Dempsey brings many of these different experiences to this group and his compositions.

Tim Ferguson, an Imaginary Records recording artist for many years with the group "Stevens, Siegel & Ferguson", has worked with a variety of jazz musicians including Don Friedman, Bucky Pizzarelli, John Abercrombie, Vanessa Rubin, Cecil Bridgewater, and Jimmy Cobb. He has toured extensively throughout the US and Europe for over ten years.

The Tom Dempsey/Tim Ferguson Quartet offers the listener a variety of sounds and textures. With their respective individual points of view coming together in this one project, "Perspectives" offers the excitement and joy of experiencing fresh music in a familiar setting.
