I was missing my son (who I hadn't had a chance to meet yet) and was walking down our long farm lane. Later I started thinking about how I'd left home that time, and how Kathy was missing me. Then I started thinking about all the families breaking up, and the runaways from home, so I wrote Don't Know Why to deal with all of that in my head. It has a happy ending though!
