Incisive, powerfully elegant. Full of surprises, from the very first horn produced chord. And here is the artistry: Johnson’s excellent work with the three piece horn section, drums and bass explores jazz and groove in equal measure. This is the cream of the catalan jazz scene.

This is a fantastic band. Spectacular solos from both saxophones; more lyrical stuff from the trombone. Tom is a great frontman who the public warm to…the band have obviously worked hard together and now, on stage, enjoy celebrating Johnson’s music with their public. The joy is contagious. The real thing. The best concert I’ve been to for a long time.

This is a great cd. From the cover you can already see that this band have got class. The groove hits you right between the eyes, and this is down to three main factors: the componer Jonson, the drummer Rabinad, and Jazz itself. Serra is one of my favourite sax players, with a powerful sound and Guim Garcia Balasch is impressive both in section and as a soloist. Jonson has a great talent for blending styles and producing a rich and uplifting groove.
