Album Notes

The gift of music that I have been given is something that fills me with gratitude. It has been my life through good times and bad for over half a century. Beginning at the age of 11 years old when I first heard Rock and Roll, I knew music was something that would always be a part of my life. I listened to vocal harmony groups sing accapella from the sixth floor of my apartment in the projects of Queens, New York, then I discovered the Blues on a radio station out of Harlem.
I conjured up images so colorful and exciting that the music became the only constant in my life. This musical journey has taken me to this place of healing music that I am composing presently. I am still involved with the Blues music I love that comes from a place so deep in my heart I cannot stop playing it. I feel I have reached the peak in that genre with The Mannish Boys, and am totally fulfilled. I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to the bluesmen I was inspired by and I will always play the blues.
The Survivors album is my second healing music effort and this music will not stop coming to me. I am compelled to compose and share it. The result is my life is filled with wonderful people who now form a circle in the eye of the storm the world finds itself in right now. The Vasquez rocks on the cover of my first healing album "ILLUMINATION" have come to have a meaning to me. I feel rock is the grounding element of the healing music frequencies that relate to musical keys for this music to have an effect. On this second album, I have the Chatsworth rocks on the cover and Bavarian Alps glacier rocks on the back cover. In May of 2009, I played a blues festival with The Mannish Boys in Sierre, Switzerland and was escorted from there to the Bavarian Alps by a dear friend. A very powerful experience! I have been in the sweat lodge with my Native American brothers and have felt the power of the universe that drives us all to do the best we can with the gifts we have been given and share them with one another. I conjure up music from a place of joy, beauty and excitement. This is my gift and I am passing it on to you! This is nothing new! Music has been a healer for centuries. The last song on this album is in the key of F natural and resonates at the same frequency as the heart chakra. It will make you feel alive and well. This is the perfect ending to this healing music chapter.
This album is dedicated to all of us on this planet, for we are all "Survivors".
