Tom Love uses his mellow voice and rich guitar to sing musical stories--some humorous, some serious, but all entertaining. He sings the experiences we've all had, or wish we had. He also sings of people, present and past

Tom Love is a talented singer/songwriter. He is a natural storyteller who has chosen to use music as his medium, and the musical style on his current CD, "Building on Tradition", is best described as a blend of folk and country. His voice is reminiscient of Pete Seeger mixed with Johnny Cash. In today's era of over-produced, super-hyped conglomerations put forth as "popular music", many listeners will find refresment in this compilation, which focuses on the songs and music of one man and his guitar. While the themes of the majority of the songs on this CD include love lost and found and the importance of home and family, there are several catchy, lighthearted tracks. These include "The Great Swine Revolution", in which pigs suggest we eat road kill, and "Gonna Put My Heart on the Swapshop", and the country-flavored soon-to-be-classic, "Backward Country Song", where everything goes right for a change. Tom is accompanied on many tracks by his friend and fellow guitar player/singer, Bob Tatum. Bob's rhythmic backup provides a solid foundation for "Wishing", and his harmonica is a fine addition to the poignant "Daisies". He and Tom achieve the perfect balance between their guitars, and the listener will appreciate "backup done right" on this CD.
