Album Notes

Tommy Lee Long, the artist, is known as Tom Long in the music industry. Tom started his career working for the Bill Lowery Music group in Atlanta. Tom co-founded the Atlanta Songwriters Association in 1978 and helped Gov. Zell Miller establish the Georgia Music Hall of fame the same year. Tom moved to Nashville in 1981 and worked for Tree publishing company which is now SonyAtv music, where he became Pres, of the Nashville Songwriters assoc. in 1983. In 84, Tom went to work for ASCAP and over a 10 year period worked with many stars such as Garth Brooks. During his term there Brad Paisley was his intern and Tom helped Brad's music become known to the industry. After ASCAP, Tom ran Anne Murray's publishing company, Balmur Entertainment for six years. During this time Blake Shelton worked for Tom as a tape copy person and Tom introduced Blake to his signature song..."Ole Red". Tom also discovered a band called the Kentucky Headhunters back in the late 70's and co-produced their last two albums. Tom was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000 along side of Vern Gosdin and has been noted as one the good guys on music row. Two of the songs on "His Love" (I'd rather see a sermon, and His tomb wasn't empty) were up for song of the year during the Dove Awards show in 1992 and 1999.' Tom has a love of Gospel music which he grew up on since his Dad was a preacher. The picture on the front of the "His Love" album was taken by Tom's mom back in 1956. Tom was 11 years old. "His Love" was recorded as a tribute to Tom's parents and has received very positive reviews by many in the music industry, Gospel and country.

I've listened to a lot of artist that have attempted to do what Tom does on this project but I haven't found any that do it better. Keep up the good work.

It's plain to see that this CD is Tom Long. It doesn't take long to hear that he and the songs are as real as they come. Listening to the way he delivers the lyrics says it all, and there is no doubt that he walks the talk. Way to go Tom, it's a very exciting album and I hope you're working on one to follow this one; you are down home; I love it!!!!.
