Album Notes

Hi,

Thanks for stopping at the CDbaby site for my new CD "Love Is In The Air"! Music is the universal language. I've traveled all over the world and the one thing that's always been true is the unifying and healing power of music. Lord knows we need that these days more than ever. My love of singing, song and silliness began early. Thanks to my family I fondly remember sitting on laps listening to the likes of the artists represented here and music from big bands to the Beatles as well as comedy performers like Johnny Carson and Bill Cosby.

The songs on the CD are all close to my heart. The song "Witchcraft" was the song my Irish Fire Fighter Father used to get my Mom to marry him. I've played "Feelin Alright" by Dave Mason in every band I've ever been in. Harry Chapin's "Taxi" also tells the story of how I first came to California only to run into my old girl friend from the east. "Mack the Knife" is the song that I've usually closed my cruise ship performances with. Into the Mystic by Van 'the man' Morrison was the first song I ever sang with a horn section.

There's no way I can thank the many people who have helped me along the way but I have really appreciated your support, encouragement and laughter. My wife Sharon should share co-Producer credit as without her advice and encouragement...

As a Cabaret and Cruise Ship performer, Open Mic devotee, saloon singer singing the blues... over the years I've truly enjoyed entertaining people. I love songs that tell a story and ones that speak to me. Frank was right... 'the lyric's the thing' .

I hope you enjoy this CD. They say that once in a lifetime a beautiful song comes along...
until that time... I hope you enjoy these!
;- )
All The Best,
Tom Patrick

"The human voice is the most important instrument at our disposal, yet it is one of the most difficult to understand or define. You either hear it, or you don't. It either moves you, or it leaves you cold...it is more than just a sound...it's the soul itself." -Neil Diamond

Introducing Tom Patrick!

NEW CD "Love is in the Air"

Tom has been involved with entertainment for more than 20 years. He's a natural performer and has worked in the Cruise Line industry on various ships as well as singing solo and with various bands in Detroit, South Florida and Northern California. He's acted with community theater groups, donated his various talents to local charities and owns a small audio / video / magazine editorial and production company.

Working in the Caribbean for Premier Cruises and Dolphin Cruise Line as both an entertainer and as an Assistant Cruise Director he performed several times a week doing singing and comedy as well as hosting audience participation events. Tom has also performed onboard the SS Constitution and USS Independence and at numerous nightclubs, trade shows, festivals, conventions and retirement communities. At Commodore Dining Cruises and other San Francisco Bay Area venues he sings and has served as an Entertainment Director/Host introducing various acts.

Tom's "Salute to Sinatra" and (Neil) "Diamond Revue" acts are very popular as is his general Las Vegas variety show style covering artists from the 1940's to the 1970's.

Patrick makes the audience the most important part of the show! "Most of the best comedy comes from them not me," he said.
In addition to his experience as a Cruise Ship Entertainer, Cabaret Singer, Comedian and MC Tom Patrick is also an actor.
He's performed in Detroit, New York, San Francisco, Hawaii and South Florida both as a solo act and in various bands. His style ranges from rock and blues to big band and jazz. The ShowBIZ called him an "awesome new talent", San Francisco Monthly and the Entertainer said "a talent to watch for". Comedian Sinbad said "He's a crazy guy... I think his mom dropped him on his head as a child!"

Tom's also a well known magazine writer, delivers motivational speeches at yearly conventions and travels internationally. He now lives with his wife Sharon in the San Francisco Bay Area and on the island of Maui in Hawaii.

Tom Patrick's new CD of classic songs called "Love Is In The Air", on his own label, REEL Records, is his first and is now available exclusively at CDbaby.com. He recently participated in a benefit for the Twin Towers Fund and 9.11 disaster relief helping to raise $5000 in one night!

Patrick's 1st CD shows singer has great promise
author: R. Lindquist, Reviewer
"Cruise ship and Cabaret performer Tom Patrick's CD 'Love is in the Air' is an eclectic collection of well done standards from the last 50 years. One of this singer's passions is to ensure that songs from the 'great American songbook' survive and with efforts like this it will. Patrick shows great promise!" You've made excellent choices to showcase your singing
author: Roxann
Good job! Frank also said he got very lucky with some very good songs. You've made excellent choices to showcase your singing. Of course it helps that (for me) you picked a song by a man that has no equal - Van Morrison. Guess I'm a bit biased! Roxann
