Album Notes

I was inspired to get into music by the music of Pink Floyd, The Who, Dire Straits and other 60's and 70's artists, and I hope to someday write music as good as theirs. My main instrument is guitar, but I have recently been writing songs featuring other instruments to avoid getting caught in a songwriting rut. The "Many Years" album is a collection of my best songs up to 2004, and I am very proud of it. I have been songwriting on a serious basis for 14 years, and I live in Jackson, TN (between Nashville and Memphis).

Nice classic rock CD

Tom Richey’s “Many Years” is a neat throwback to classic rock bands of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. The disc is a collection of Richey’s musical writings and claims it to be his best work over a 14 year span of songwriting. “In Here” a finely tuned acoustic track ignites the sounds of early Grateful Dead and shows off Richey’s guitar skills. His Pink Floyd influence shows its face in “Many Years” with a classic synth string section and typical Roger Waters style verses. Richey’s compilation of his “greatest hits” is a well chosen collection of stripped down classic rock anthems.
