Album Notes

"Piano Battle 09" contains live recordings from a wonderful piano night in Denmark in March 2009. Four piano players took turns and played stride piano, boogie, blues, swing, ragtime and various styles of solo piano jazz. The piano players were Tom Skovgaard (CD track 1-4), Lasse Jensen (CD track 5-7), Morten Wittrock (CD track 8-10), and Jean-Baptiste Franc (CD track 11-13).

Enjoy these recordings in the style of the piano house rent parties, including some of the authentic pieces from great piano players like Fats Waller, James P. Johnson, Albert Ammons and Axel Zwingenberger.
