Tom Spector has drawn on more than 30 years of teaching meditation and healing to create this CD. Tom presents two forms of meditation and a talk on healing. His instructions are clear and easy to follow as you develop your own meditation practice and begin healing your personal issues.
Tom's motto: “Everyone can learn to meditate, even people who think they never could.”
You will immediately feel the calming and peaceful benefits of meditation. Many of Tom’s students claim that his meditation and healing guidance have changed their lives.
Track 1: Meditation 1– Quieting the Mind
The CD begins with a meditation that gently creates an environment that allows your busy mind to become quieter. Many people experience constant “mind chatter, “or “monkey mind” that causes an inability to focus. A quiet mind is remarkably more efficient and effective, enabling you to “see” more clearly. You will learn to sense which actions are helpful and which ones to avoid.
Many of us spend significant time worrying about the future or regretting the past, even though they know intellectually that worry and regret can’t help- and may actually make us sick. This first meditation brings you into the present moment where there is no worry or regret. You may find that the relief is immediate!
You will also learn to use meditation to quickly center yourself and calmly approach stressful situations with fresh insight. In this way, you can avoid escalating negativity and create new positive relationships with those who are important in your life.
Track 2: Our Two Gardens
In this track, Tom presents practical techniques to help you move through personal issues that stand between your superficial self and your inner Heart Center – a garden that contains beautiful flowers of light, unconditional love, compassion, and truth. All we need to become completely healed is to identify with this Heart Garden. So, why don’t we? The answer is because we have another garden – the Mind Garden. Although this garden has some flowers, such as wisdom and intellect, it is mostly full of weeds. Your emotions, environment, senses, behavior, and intellect often sow these weed seeds. On their own, the seeds are harmless, but if you react to them in unhealthy ways, you can cultivate the seeds into huge "weed monsters". Some weeds such as regret, guilt, and worry may be fundamental. Others may be cultivated from unhealthy reactions to fear, pain, and stress. These may include anxiety, panic, negative thoughts, limiting concepts, confusion, procrastination, paralysis, unworthiness, anger, greed, and jealousy.
Tom explains healthy ways to deal with these issues and experience the beautiful flowers of your Heart Center. You will learn how to respond to these everyday situations in ways that will prevent the weeds from growing, relieve accumulated suffering, and cultivate long-lasting healing.
Track 3: Meditation 2 – The Heart Center
Tom guides you through a second meditation that provides a direct experience of your precious inner being, your Heart Center. This energy center is your source of light, unconditional love, compassion, and truth that leads and sustains you along the paths to peace, happiness, and satisfaction.
Although your Heart Center is your natural essence and birthright, access to it is frequently blocked by mental processes, emotions, and limiting beliefs that can dominate daily life. The meditation process overcomes these challenges and clears the way to your Heart Center. As you gain a sense of your deeper Self, many problems appear rather superficial, and you will comfortably begin to release their grip.
This positive cycle of experience and release creates an exciting new outlook on life and enhances your ability to pursue your purposeful place in it. The process is healing and liberating – and the only requirements are a desire to become freer and a willingness to take the time to treat yourself to this gift.
Tom Spector calls on his experiences in both meditation and healing science in his forthcoming book, Our Two Gardens: How to Cultivate Healing.
