A person of great depth, Tom Strong is a man who has known great suffering in his life. His songs reflect this and speak of his development as a bard, brought about by his love for a beautiful woman. His use of unusual timing and frequent ‘gear shifts’ in his songs make for a very ‘different’ repertoire which reflect his moods and his poetic nature.
"Singing is the breath of life to me, the ultimate expression of emotion. My music harks back to a time when everybody sang. Songs to make the work go easier – in the fields, in the farmyard, in the home, on board ship and during the year long round of holidays and festivals. Above all songs of love.
Singing is the expression of the joys and sorrows of life, of the rhythms of work and love. The F# song of the good earth rooted our lives in music and sacred chants served to balance the universal energies which have expression in us.
Resonating at the pinnacle of human emotion love is everything that’s good and noble in the human spirit. To know true love is the greatest privilege life can bestow, it lifts you above the mundane to a greater purpose and it warms all around you.
