Tom's fourth solo release blends his background in Country, Rock, Americana, and Country Rock with his love of open roads and open landscapes. The opening and closing tracks, WHITEWATER ROAD and MILES AGO, are nods to California, where Tom grew up; the haunting songs GHOST ON THE ROAD and FIREFLIES set stories of lost love and a lost friend to Tennessee summers; these are balanced out by the uptempo, forward looking optimism of CARRY YOUR SMILE and WIND IN THE WIRES. The tie that binds these songs together is the road; it is there in some of the titles & lyrics, and always present in the background. This latest effort from Tom is considered by many industry folks to be some of Tom's finest work, and he's not done yet!
