ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Album release 'Judge Not' by TonaHope coincides with celebration of H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassi Earthday July 23rd, 2012!!

It's been a long time coming but Hopeton "TonaHope" Smythe has accomplished his dream of completing his first Reggae album entitled 'Judge Not'. The release date of July 23rd 2012 coincides with the celebration of H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie Earthday and is also in time for the upcoming celebration of Hopeton's birthplace Jamaica's 50th Anniversary of Independence.

Reggae lovers will find that the album has a refreshing feel of peace with a rock steady pace that has you rocking from track 1 to track 10. The opening track 'Give Thanks & Praise' is a testament to TonaHope's praises to the Most High for keeping him safe during the last days while God's words are being revealed as it was written in the Bible. All songs were written by Hopeton 'TonaHope' Smythe except for track 5 'Everything I Own' which is a wonderful rendition of the original recording by 'Bread' and made famous to Reggae lovers by Ken Booth. Track 7 'Judge Not' warns us not to judge how the Rastaman lives his life, only God sees what is in the heart of man, it is an uptempo track that will have you skanking, singing along and moving to the powerful reggae beat. For dancehall lovers track 9 will be a hit, entitled 'Glory Day' it tells of the big dance that will be kept on Judgement day for the righteous people and how the wicked will be weeping and wailing! Lovers of dub will rock along to track 10 'Jah Never (Dub) and feel that their spirit has truly been elevated.

This CD is one of love, harmony and truth, and unlike many albums you will not find yourself 'fast forwarding' to the next track, it's a CD that young and old will love to play over and over. Nuff respect to producer Edson "Ajamu" Mitchell and backup vocals by Ansel Cridland (The Meditations).

Judge Not - Adam Seeds Music - Available Monday, July 23rd 2012!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Reggae Music Lovers,
I am very proud of my debut album, it has been a journey of great proportion, ups and downs, but perseverance won out. Track#1 “Give Thanks & Praise” was done to address the lack of responsibility that some now-a-days artist portray. We all need to give constant thanks and praises and as artist we need to be conscious of the fact that kids listen our music. Still, I’m not trying to Judge anyone as the title Track#7 “Judge Not” implores us , this is the single most controllable thing that’s wrong with today’s society (everybody think they have the right to Judge there brothers) please stop!!! Track#2 “I Want to Know” is how I feel about everything, I prefer to know what I’m up against, rather than beat around the bush, be straight with me and we will be fine. Track#3 “Going True” reminds me to keep it real no matter what success may come, just be real and maintain the founding principles of the Golden rule “love your neighbors as you love yourself and do unto others as you would have them do unto you” going through Babylon true. Track#4 “JAH Never Leave Us” is a constant reminder that we are never truly alone, because GOD will always be there with us, in our hay day also in our darkest hours, this song was written to pick myself up and it works like a charm,(I truly hope it has the same effect on you). Track#5 “Everything I own” is the only cover song on this album, such a great song that was originally recorded in the 60’s by the group “Bread” lead by David Gates who wrote the song. I added this song to the album because I had a friend who passed on and while thinking about her one day this song popped in my head and it was so appropriate, and even though it has been remade several times I felt compelled to re-make it in memory of a very good friend(Beverley A. Richards) R.I.P. Track#6 “Where is The Love” this track started out about self, but quickly turned global, and raises the age old question where is the love?, why so much troubles in the world? This is the favorite track on the album for quite a few people and it truly captures me(TonAHope) as an artist(big tune). So, now we’re on to Track#7 “Judge Not” I already touch this one briefly, but I would like to add that it’s not our place to Judge our brother, we are our brothers keeper not his Judge, so let’s leave all judgment until judgment day, which I like to refer to as “Glory Day” Track#9 is crucial lyrics set to a very up tempo beat that will set the party off, dance hall style. Track#8 “OH JAH JAH” is a direct cry unto the most high for continued support for those of us that maintain a meekness, this song could very well be included in the Psalms as it reminds us of David on his harp crying to GOD for mercy. The final track Track#10 “JAH Never DuB” is an instrumental version of Track#4. So this album is very up to the time, relevant, serious but also relaxing. It is with great pleasure I present to you “JUDGE NOT”
Thank You
TonAhope
