Album Notes

---ABOUT TONE SOUP COLLECTIVELY...

"Tone Soup's music is woven from many styles and held together by two common threads --- a basis in acoustic music and an emphasis on vocal harmony -- the end result is a musical tapestry, rich and full of variety."

---ABOUT TONE SOUP INDIVIDUALLY...

LINDA MUELLER brings her dynamic personality to the group, on- and off-stage, infusing us with energy, ideas, and great fun. Her sense of musical direction and her gift for integrating nuance keeps us open to a myriad of possibilities, and reminds us that music is a gift meant for sharing. She's a veteran of the local music scene, balancing her life as a mother of two with a full-time job, a Spring plant lot, performing, giving voice lessons, and not searching for the perfect man!

TIM BURKE has been making music as far back as he can remember. Like many teenagers in the Sixties, he pestered his parents into getting him a guitar...
it was love at first sound. Early in life Tim was surrounded by the sounds of Big Bands and Classical music. Later on, it was Folk and Jazz, all of which now influence his playing and vocal arrangements. He's still surrounded ...as a guitar teacher, a member of Tone Soup, and in his work at Interlochen Public Radio.

BARBARA STOW, spent her childhood hearing voices...beautiful ones from her family and friends joining in song on many occasions. Expanding on the familiar, she took voice and guitar lessons as a teen.In the past twelve years, she's been with Linda in two different trios. Now she enjoys a bustling life with teenagers, a country home in the age of speed and technology, and developing an organic garlic farm.

three voices sound like one sometimes. I like the song choices made on this CD. the music is for the most part upbeat, happy, and infused with energy and message. I felt the focused vocal work they had to do on this fresh CD. I can smile while I listen, and I always want to sing along..
