WALK INTO A WALL Copyright 6/23/1985 Shauna Curry-Laurie aka Stoltz-Laurie
Grappled with an apple, took a shot for immunity
Tackled with a jackal then smiled with naivete
I wonder what, I wonder what it’s made of
Blood, bones and fleshy meat
Taste it, don’t waste it. Put you back on your feet.
I don’t feel a thing.
Groanin’, moanin, don’t feel a thing.
Smokin’, chockin', just a gradual numbing
Take them away. It’s just another trick to get ya
They’ll let you go when you’re sick of it
I don't feel a thing
Walk into a wall. It must not feel a thing
I may go talking to a wall. It must not hear a thing I say
So crawl into a wall. You may become one.
So they can talk to you, the wall, and you can hear all sorts of things.
Scratchin’ Itchin’, didn’t he write a book?
Swimmin’, twistin’, caught on a line and hook.
I don’t feel a thing
COLORIN MY LIFE Copyright 4/27/2012 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
My life’s out of order. My paradise sucks
I’m held under water but you’re pulling me up
You sang for my daughter, revived my smile
You walk on the water, you’re colorin' my life
The reds are arousing me
The yellow is mellowing me
The maroons are swooning me
The shadows are telling me
Don’t be mad. Don’t be sad. Play your cards and mask your hand
I'm painting the town with my fantasies
Opening doors with skeleton keys
Every day is a holiday
Everybody is telling me
Don’t be mad. Don’t be sad. Play my cards and mask my hand
Life comes to order. My paradise rocks
I walk on the water, nothing holding me up
You’re colorin' my life
SUMMEREAVEN Copyright July 2010 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
Finally it’s summer
We get to go walkin' round half naked, takin' it slow
You get those sexy cravings on your mind
The sun is burnin' down below
Let us be lovers until September rolls
Sweet as Godiva
Oh, this can’t be finer, covered in sand head to toe
Seagulls are laughing while my waves are lapping,
with you sailing ‘round in my cove
In the summertime
- you can sneak your fingers down my bathing suit give me hot kisses all through the night
- you can slip your fingers down my bathing suit give me naked kisses all through the night
- I will sneak my fingers down your bathing suit give you hot kisses all through the night
And oh, it’s so nice to get outta the city and make our bodies brown and tan
Oh, you can catch that wave, you’re gonna do it, gonna do it. Just let go my hand
Seagulls are laughing at our bodies crashing covered with sand head to toe
Oh, pinch me, I’m beggin'. Oh, this gotta be heaven, floating our bodies so close
In the summertime...
ELEVATOR FANTASY Copyright May 2012 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
There he is, my favorite neighbor, standing in my elevator, sir
Looking natty in a pink shirt accessorized with a leather purse
His lips are curling gently up into a smile
Anticipating another unplanned elevator fantasy ride
Naturally uttering our introductions simultaneously
Apologies and laughter, momentary silence broken by a please
Feeling claustrophobic? Shall we go for a splash of wine?
Charmed and euphoric, straight through the foyer, right out to the night
Our initial close encounter sealed our commitment without a word
Pretending we’re perfect strangers, cognizant love’s the ultimate curse
Unsigned, unspoken, elevator lottery
Former engagements fall away as we sashay into the street
Every unique encounter culminating in a sexy tryst
Reinventing characters, aware familiarity’s a bitch
Feeling hyperactive? Shall we go out for a dance?
Anticipating another wonderful elevator romance
Another wonderful elevator fantasy...
LITTLE VOICES Copyright Jan-Feb 2011 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
Walkin' tall, floating five feet and six inches small
Buy my boys another round. Tomorrow’s sorrows buried underground
Full moons and tides stealing our precious lives, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Are we sane? Listening to those little voices in our he-he-he-heads
Is it right – Is it wrong
To be weak – to be strong
Feeling dead – feel reborn
Talkin' big – thinkin' small
Ponzi scheme – or save them all
Block em out – or listen to those little voices in your head
You remind me of someone I once knew…
Searching for escapes from malcontent,
summoning the will to be content, yet dreaming of distant stars
Capturing the fireflies of lust, glowing growing into love and trust
yet fulfilled in all regards
You remind me of someone I once knew…
Is it right – Is it wrong
To be weak – to be strong
Feeling dead – feel reborn
Is it wrong – Is it right
To compromise – or start a fight
Screw her friend - or love your wife
Bend the truth – rescind a lie
Shoot to kill – or save a life
Block 'em out, don’t listen to those little voices in your head
You remind me of someone I once knew...
BELONG TO Copyright Feb-March 2011 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
If my love weren’t so true, I would stay with you
Til we lie on our backs staring at the stars smoking our cigarettes
If my love weren’t so divine, I would curse the gods and goddesses
and blaze a path through the burning pines just to stand by your side
Keep away, keep away, stand on the other side
I’m so sorry I belong to another guy – Belong to another
If my love wasn’t so cool, I could chill with you
We would raise the thermometer, blast off to Andromeda
So stay, baby, stay, stay outa my world
I’m so sorry I belong to another girl. I belong to another
My love stands like the tallest of trees
A giant among mice, a titan among minions,
A queen among maidens, a king among lads
And I must bid you adieu
If my love wasn’t so blind I wouldn’t think twice
wiping the grimy glass of life with my sleeve
just to peer in your eyes
Keep away, keep away, stand away from my side
I’m so sorry I belong to another
So stay, baby, stay, stay outa my world
I’m so sorry I belong to another
If my love weren’t so true
If my love wasn’t so divine
If my love weren’t so cool
If my love were not so blind
BAD BOY Copyright 2010 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
He was a Halloween babe with a flame blazed across his head
Screamin' at his mama til his body’s all black and red
You better stop swimming, the Jamaican babysitter said
Her mojo done work: the chord wrapped twice around his neck
But he couldn’t have been, he couldn’t have been a better boy..
Then he was a Hollywood babe with a gold chain around his neck
Swimmin' in money and partying til he was a wreck
He had a heart of gold but he traded it in for a check
His mama done warn him, but he say he don’t give a heck
You’re dancing with the angels, you bad boy
Singing with the devil, you bad boy
He’s such a bad boy. He’s just a bad boy
A troubled grown man with a monkey sitting on his back
Starin' at the table with his pennies piled in a stack
Nothing left to live for, living on the fast track
Steppin' off the ladder, rope around his neck, hear it crack
He was just a bad boy – Mama loves you
Such a very bad boy – Mama needs you
He was just a bad boy – Mama misses you
Such a very bad boy – Mama loved you
MINI ME MINI YOU Copyright May 2012 Shauna Stoltz-Laurie
Disintegrated daisies scattered ‘cross the lawn
Little beetle ladies huddled ‘gainst the storm
Pizza, apple pie, martinis until dawn
Pin a silver star upon your golden hair
Plough a shooting star into a Russian bear
A mini me, a mini you, a stormy affair
Like a little boy, like a little girl
Curtsy and bow, tiptoes and twirl
Candy coated crooked candle on the wane
Sneaky winky pedophile without a name
Tortellini melted taffies in the rain
13 year-old boy, 13 year-old girl
Mouthy fingers, fuzzy faces, blouse unfurls
You be a snake, I’ll be a squirrel
Don’t give it away…
Simple aged mind, cataract eyes
Sway and swoon at the moon arise
Many mini me’s, mini you’s so very wise
Like a gentleman, like a gentle girl
Dust and ashes scattered ‘round the world
Don’t throw it away…
Thank you for listening. Hoping it's an antidote. Look for our next release this time 2013.
