Reminds me of early Judas Priest (c 1975) mixed with a touch of Chilli Peppers. Bit of a shock first time through, second time it starts to grow on you. Heavy guitar, bass and drums work together like a diabolic machine... vocals OK but need a fraction more polish before they really achieve what they are setting out to do here. Remember when the Chilli Peppers first came out and people were saying, "huh? what is this?" and then they couldn't stop listening to it. Tonker could go the same way. Second Skin has plenty of energy, plenty of bravado and plenty of original ideas. This album stands out in a crowd of a rubber-stamp, genre-following material by just letting loose. Read more...
