Tony Bernardi's works are lyrical, atmospheric, imaginative, emotionally deep and expressive. Born in the Middle East to European parents Bernardi is a product of multiple cultures, languages and spiritual traditions. His musical works are passionately informed by eastern and western musical traditions and reflect his classical training in art, western composition and orchestration.
Highly melodic and rich in emotional content, most of Bernardi’s works conjure images. His compositional technique integrates the western love of form with the eastern passion for content, a marriage between what he considers the masculine and feminine elements in his music.
The style of Bernardi's music is structurally baroque however it is significantly informed by the works of Mahler, Prokovfiev, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Philip Glass. His music is free in tonal structure but faithful to melodically organized ideas that are often conceived intuitively and are contrapuntal. What seem to be most prominent about Bernardi’s music are his atmospheric moods.
Tony Bernardi is a student of A Course in Miracles and the works of Eckhart Tolle and his beloved friend Marshall Stewart Ball. He is also engaged in actively promoting Peace Awareness through HAP21, an organization he founded to support creative and artistic collaborations to produce art, music and literature that promote peace awareness in the 21st Century.
