Album Notes

Drummer, guitarist and composer, Tony Graci, proudly presents his first solo CD release. Reflections on Steel is a wistful and worldly collection of acoustic and slide guitar lullabies.

Having long used the guitar as an opposing voice to his drumming, Tony has composed a series fo reflective tunes inspired by his love of slide and lap steel guitars, where he drew the melodies from the notes within the chords to create a very organic and distinctive sound.

A well-rounded multi-instrumentalist, Tony has written music for network TV and Radio, such as Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, TLC's Simplify your Life and Repo Man. Radio spots include, Rolling Rock and Old Navy

Currently Tony plays sessions and local gigs in the NYC area and has just received a drum and cymbal endorsement from an exclusive drum company DC California Drums and Soultone Cymbals.

Beautiful, heartfelt, intelligent lullabies to help you dream better.
author: Dimitri Ehrlich, Interview Magazine

This album of painstakingly-crafted lullabies is deceptive. At first listen, you might think it's simply a great set of songs for rocking a child to sleep. But this is music to help grown ups dream better, too. The songs slowly shift shapes, oozing like thick black organic mollasses through a range of moods and memories, coaxing emotions to the surface you never even knew you had. Like a castle built entirely of hand carved wood, this album is assembled out of one man's patient fascination with the endless possibilities of six steel strings. You can hear his love and admiration for the guitar, the way he makes it sing and coo and moan, the way he gently coaxes warmth and tonality and humanity out of it. There is something timeless about this approach to music, and you can feel the power of tradition and generations of artistry echoing softly behind these tracks. The more closely you listen, the more deeply you are rewarded. You find yourself dreaming while awake, falling into the music's suprising textures, following threads of melodies and counterpoint, never knowing where the songs will lead, and not particularly caring. Reflections On Steel is a slow amble without goal or destination, taken for the sheer pleasure of it. Enjoy.

Talk about Organic Music !!!!!

I am an organic peotry writer at heart and boy did I find inspiration and renewal while I was listening to TGs' CD in the quiet of my home. I would recommend listening to it for daily renewal. Living in New York City really leaves you dry this CD puts back the moisture of the soul.

As soon as I popped the CD in, I just felt a wave of relaxation, which is not easy to do in NYC! Definitely pick up a copy (or two!) of Tony Graci's album. I am more familiar with Tony as an amazing drummer, so this was a very pleasant surprise! I had no idea that he was so multi-faceted. Well performed and very human, which is not easy to find in the world of overproduced albums. Definitely a must-have in your CD collection. Thanks, Tony, for such a great collection of music from the heart!
