Album Notes

Tony Haven is one of a handful of young players making a name for himself as a pioneer of acoustic guitar. Even though his compositions are reminiscent of a previous generation of guitarist, including Eric Mongrain and Michael Hedges, his inspiration comes from a mix of Chemical Brothers and Massive Attack. It’s this combination that makes for an interesting fusion of styles within a song.
The British native attracted the attention of the guitar community after only 3 months of performing live and he was soon sharing festival dates with Cypress Hill, Calvin Harris and The Streets.
In January 2010 he released a debut EP and DVD that went on sale across the globe and 2011 see's him follow this up with the release of his debut album "The Driftwood LP"
Getting to this point in his career has taken him down many unusual roads including a Red Hot Chili Pepper tribute band and then a progressive soul funk act in college.
While in college he experimented with soul, funk, jazz, metal and once caused controversy by performing a classical guitar recital using a Fender Stratocaster.
With an ever growing need to break ground, he went on to form an instrumental metal band called Valkyr, which went on to release 2 albums worldwide in under 2 years with Casket Records.
It was after this project parted ways that he bought a cheap acoustic guitar and the rest is still being written.
