notes
Tony Low, a founding member of the renowned garage-psychedelic pop band The Cheepskates, has been writing and recording his songs since the 1980's. After several years in The Cheepskates and more recently Static 13, Tony went solo in 1998. "My songs definitely capture a spirit or mood which most everyone can relate to and eahch tune stands on its own."
In 2000, "Dandelion in the Year of the Rooster" was released. This six song EP featured songs about time, lost love, and hope. The album recieved lavish praise in the indie-pop press and left fans waiting expectantly for more.
Presenting "Sleight of Hand", Tony's new full-length 12 song opus. Included are standouts such as "I Will Listen", "Girl", "Sleight of Hand", "Rat Behind the Wall" and "Rev". There is also a cover version of Phil Och's country & western-tinged "Chords of Fame".
Tony's brand of folk/psych/pop is a breath of fresh air in an era dominated by "cute" teen pop tarts and boy bands. Check out "Sleight of Hand" and hear again how real music is supposed to feel.
