Album Notes

Tony O'Leary is a resident of Western Bay Newfoundland who enjoys keeping Irish Newfoundland music alive. His love of music started at a young age when he began playing the accordion and as he got older he picked up the mandola, mandolin, and guitar. Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to travel North America playing with various musicians at different venues from pubs to concert halls. Tony's music has appeared on compilation cd's with artists such as The Irish Rovers, The Fables, Great Big Sea, And the Ennis sisters. He played 6yrs with The O'Leary's and Michael Doyle and co-produced Music In the Air. Tony also played musical arrangements on Neal O'Leary's CD Up All Night. This cd was nominated for 6 awards including album of the year by the M.I.A.N.L. In 2007 Tony released his first solo album Pump The Box that has recieved rave reviews around the world. He was also nominated by the M.I.A.N.L instrumentalist of the year for 2007. In 2009 he released his second solo album of Celtic rock.Tony is an environmentalist who is very much involved in protecting our wild places, for if we do not, the future of the next generation will be compromised. He hopes that in the future we will all look at nature as an extension of ourselves. For we only have one earth!!
