by Tony Smiley

Tony's mix of rock, human beat boxing, 80's new wave rhythms, and yes, dash of Mongolian throat singing, combine into one huge mountain of a performance. His songs are original, groove laden works of art that most importantly, rock.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Driving Myself Sane is a tour de force of rock, electronic dance beats and off kilter David Bowie influenced hooks. Tony Smiley provides modern rock music at it’s finest.

Dubbed the "one man riot loop ninja" by fans, Portland , Oregon’s Tony Smiley has created a one-man band sound that mixes up funk, folk and grunge with beatbox and even a dash of Mongolian Throat singing. Asked who he thought he sounded like, he replied, “Pinback, Helio Sequence and Outkast.” Then he thought for a second and added, “and Tears for Fears.” His songs are original groove laden works of art that rock!

Irrepressible energy
Tony's work makes it plain that he has an ear for the sheer beauty of sound and the delight of a danceable beat. Dedicated hard work is evident, but never competes with his unforced exuberance. Get this album; you'll get happy every time your listen. I like a loaned copy so much that I'm buying this CD for myself.
