Boring and Lame
author: Robert Johnson
This has got to be one of the most disappointing albums I have ever had the displeasure of listening to. It is clear that his backers are helping him to climb to the top because he can not do it on his own so he has to use others to try and be somebody. This kid's playing is basic blues and nothing more and it is painfully obvious that his mommy and daddy are the only ones who write such glowing reviews of their precious little boy. Life is going to show Tony that just playing guitar as slow as he does just does not cut in today's music world. If you want to listen to the same old crap with a new young player trying to reach higher than he is capable of then listen to this lame album. If you want to put your money and ears on some real players who will get you excited then skip this arrogant dishonorable kid and go straight for some real guitar players who have reached the top! Joe Bonomass and Tony Smotherman can play circroles around this kid with just two fingers. Oh, and keep your woman away from Tony because he has a thing for married and taken women so don't give him any contact info because he can not be trusted with it. Tony has a long way to go and a lot to learn obviously and maybe it is time for his daddy to explain some facts of life to him about messing with ano

If you take nothing else from my review, please read this one sentence: YOU MUST GET THIS CD AND YOU MUST SEE THIS BAND LIVE! As is indicated in the CD description above, this is the debut CD of The Tony Tyler Trance. Once you give it a listen, I believe you will do as I did and find yourself shaking your head, amazed at the quality of music laid down on each and every track by a 19 year old guitarist/vocalist/frontman and his tight band, and finding yourself wondering how such a young guy can produce such seasoned, classic tunes. Believe it! The tunes on this CD range from blues, to rock, to classic rock, to funk, to down home Sunday jams. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. You won't regret it! I expect we'll be hearing big these from this guy and his band. Visit www.tonytylertrance.com and www.myspace.com/thetonytylertrance for updates and tour schedule.
