The 15-song set features a variety of musical genres, including the pocomania influenced Our Father, Honestly - Toots' first foray into disco-rave genre, the funky Jungle, and four groovin' lovers' -rock steady cuts, Mini Conversation, More and More, Love is the Best and Spend the Night.

The title cut, World is Turning comes with a new driving beat and Livity has an almost Festival feel, carrying a more subtle poco - gospel influence. Hit Meck, and Halfway Tree are refreshing reggae tracks, along with Who Nuh Know, with its haunting nyahbingi undercurrent, and Borderline, with its unique reggae-pop blend. Lyrically, the album ranges from deep and poignant social commentary and calls for caring and change in human attitudes (Who Nuh Know, Borderline, World is Turning, Livity), to thoughtful, even at times playful expressions of love and desire (Mini Conversation, More and More, Love is the Best, Spend the Night).
