Album Notes

Welcome!

I have tried several pieces of software Ejay, Magix, Acid Pro, Fruity Loops, Logic and now I am using Reason as my favorite program. Together with a keyboard this software has brought me a long way and should be better in the future...but I will let you be the judge of that.

I compose and arrange my own original music with a lot of inputs from the different genres in my compositions.
I want to create pictures and set you in a certain mood instead of being the next superstar and I like to call it Recreative Music.

Inspiration:
Sash!, Darude, Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Vivaldi, Mozart and almost every other kind of good music that is around.

Equipment:
Keyboard, Soundforge, Reason and lots of Patience.

Formed in 1998 which sometimes shows in the sound....

About some of the compositions:

Refugium:
Was my first attempt to make something JMJ like and the rythm in the beginning is very much inspired by "Arpegiator", the opening piece from the "Concerts In China" album.

Blue Note:
Was made on a rainy day. I was looking out the window on those wet people and thought that I needed to make a tune about this. I made it a bit more joyful in the end because no matter how grey the day is....The sun always shines through once in a while.

Indian Proverb:
Is a tribute to Red Rock Mesa in Second Life and to Native Americans.

Musicbox Vivaldi:
One of my favorite composers of all times is Vivaldi. A long time ago he made a Concerto For Two Mandolins in 3 movements. I took the second movement and made it a bit more uptempo but tried to keep the Vivaldi spirit in it.

Icmeler:
Some time ago I was on vacation in a small town called Icmeler in Turkey. Walking the streets I felt inspired by all the rythms and sounds coming from the shops and bars.
So you can say this is a guided tour through the streets of Icmeler and a tribute to the turkish people.

The Last Bus:
We have all tried sitting in the last bus home from visiting family and friends and looking out the window. Streets passing by, lights passing by and thoughts passing by in our minds.

Greetings from Torben Asp
