Album Notes

Penelope Torribio is singer-songwriter with nine albums. Many of these have to do with ecology. Penelope has performed in festivals, colleges, author’s days all over Southern California and even in such exotic places as India and Thailand. Please visit www.1worldmusicandpuppets for more information about her interactive musical puppet shows.

After receiving many requests for the words to her songs Penelope began packaging her CD with lyric coloring books. They have been used in classrooms all over the world and as the basis of plays and ecology events.

Her songs run the gamut from rock to rap, to lyrical and in her children’s albums they are nearly all sung by animals from different environments. “The Rain is Coming” are Amazon rainforest songs, “Dinosaur Dance, how not to become extinct” are from the primeval forest, Under the Blue Blue Sea, undersea ecology,” Guardians of the Earth” is from animals such as butterflies, donkeys and monkeys, “The Grass is Green” contains farm animal songs and “Sing the Calendar Songs” has months of the year with their spelling and a calendar to color. Penelope considers her children’s albums Edu-tainment as most of the songs have to do with ecology or character development.

The great thing about Penelope’s songs is that they are meant to be sung by children, they have a lot of humor, and they are loved by adults as well. Anna Pomaska, children’s illustrator.
