Album Notes

The power of the blues is that it unifies us in common experiences of troubles and loss
and yet in some magical way makes us feel less alone and less sad. In “Watch Out! I’m Singing the Blues” Penelope masterfully expresses the feelings we share. From “Wandering Woman,”a poignant song about a woman’s search for a home, to the relatable “Laid Off Blues” we see ourselves. But we all know we can stay in the blues and with songs such as “Flat Tire, Stick-Shifting, Broken Transmission Blues” to “House Cat Blue; Treat Me Like Your Cat,” Penelope helps us laugh ourselves into a new prospective. You’ll have no choice but to conclude that “You Ain’t Got Time for the Blues.” (track 17.)

“Today I found you (on the internet) and I am ordering Your CD. Kind of funny I have a friend making some bad decisions and just 2 minutes ago I quoted one of your songs “Jumping from the Frying Pan into the Fire again, making the bed your gonna have to lie in” I hope that’s right. Anyways that prompted me to look for you once again. And you popped up right away. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

Penelope cut her teeth in performance on the original Jimmie Roger’s music, visit thatiscountrymusic.com and performed with her band “Penelope and A Little Bit of Gold” in the L.A. area, look for “Headed for a Good Time,” but for now, she is doing what she does best-singing story song with just her and her old guitar.
