Penelope Torribio calls herself an ecology artist in that most of her art has to do with raising ecology awareness and increased caring for all elements of the planet Earth and beyond. “Einstein in My Garden: photos and reflections on bugs,” has to do not only with bugs, but living with awareness of the elements of life, living in balance. Oh, yes, it has to do with bugs too and the fact that almost every child has intimate contact with bugs.
Penelope is an award winning photographer. Her photographs have graced the cover of the “Indie Bible” and CD, such as “Peter Sterling,” the angelic harpist lastest album, “The Sands of Time.” (magicharp.com)
Penelope’s photographs have received honors in art exhibits and “Einstein in My Garden” received the” editors choice award” from the International Photographers Society.
In researching for Penelope’s rainforest CD and lyric coloring book (“The Rain is Coming,” Penelope became aware of the importance of bugs in the chain of life. She bring to her reflections the same kind of down humor that she brings to her songs, whether about dinosaurs, frogs, bugs, donkeys or men.
Penelope has a portable display presentation of her bugs mixed with reflections and songs on an ecology theme available for festivals, universities, schools, family night, book stores, museums and other ecology events.
“I think that you will be amazed at Penelope’s photographs and deceptively simple reflections on the creepy, crawling, fliting, singing, spinning, creatures that are so necessary to our survial. –Daria Nunez, President, Education for the Arts.
Penelope Torribio’s great bug photos can be enjoyed by people of all ages—and the more sophisticated readers will enjoy the witt and philosophy in her reflections on bugs.
--Susan Dobey, noted international artist.
