Album Notes

Formed in the summer of 1997, the members of Torsion decided on a seemingly odd lineup: live drums, bass and vocals, combined with a multitude of sequenced sounds. In 1999 they decided to include the broad repertoire of sounds and textures that a live guitar has to offer.

Torsion has endeavored to step outside of the box-they are about making interesting, challenging music. Torsion focuses on songwriting that combines primal rhythms, strong melodies, and layers of 'Industrial' sequencing. Their music is a blending of organic sound with cold machines. This synthesis of sounds creates a unique experience that the band has dubbed 'Sensual Noise'.

Torsion's music revolves around darker-edged themes. Some of the songs are inspired by unbalanced relationships and the instability and anger that occur between people; while other songs contemplate the times in a person's life where their self-assessment rates exceptionally low-where they feel worthless and alone. Another favorite subject matter is seduction, exploring the thrill of luring someone in and the guilty pleasure of such feelings.

This year has seen the Release of "Hardware, Sex, and Misunderstanding." In supporting this album, Torsion will be touring the East coast of the United States, and Beyond.

Internet Music is the future

Having stumbled across Torsion on MySpace, I became pleasantly surprised. Their mix of electronica, dark guitar riffs, and beautiful female voice create a somewhat eerie and lightly turbulant, but calm experience. It is the musical equivalent of flying at night, hopped up on heroin. Check out this band. Their CD prices are well worth their talent. And furthermore, I don't fear supporting the Big Music industries. It's a win/win situation with Torsion.
