Album Notes

‘Halo is the electrifying debut release from Total Movement. This London-based four-piece have worked relentlessly to craft their unique blend of electronica and rock. This four track EP showcases an exciting new talent.’

The band has been described as ‘an up-beat massive attack’ and takes pride in their originality, and distinct implementation of a traditional rock band line-up with electronic loops, samples and effects.

‘Halo’ and ‘The Heat’ are best known for their part in the 2007 award winning short animation ‘A Tale of Rock’. Gaining phenomenal popularity with the online community, it is currently YouTube’s 73rd all time Top Favorited in Film & Animation, with over 1.4 million views.

The Halo EP is the combined work of Paul and Alan Mansford (Vocals and Bass respectively), Ollie Balman (Guitars and Samples) and James Field (Drums). It was composed, recorded and produced by the band in London, and was mastered by Misha Nikolic.

This EP features live drums and bass recorded on an acoustically adapted stage in Prince Edward Hall at the University of Hertfordshire. The vocals, guitars and samples were recorded in various improvised recording spaces at Ollie’s home studio. Unconfined by the usual time and financial restraints of most ‘indie’ bands, Ollie’s studio afforded them the luxury to record and mix at their leisure.

REVIEWS

Great little thing

Like the reviewer below, Halo and The Heat were my favorite by far. I feel the other two were a bit behind in quality, but that's just my opinion. Overall, it's a very good EP.
