Album Notes

Devin Townsend is the so-called "genius" former vocalist for Steve Vai and the current creator of the bands Strapping Young Lad and Ocean Machine. This highly praised artist has been featured in all of the major Metal music publications world-wide and here provides a ride into the musical hurricanes that rage inside his head.

"The sonic waves filling you with peacefulness instead of the oppression you would expect from such complex music, and is enough to convince you of his genius as a creator" - Burrn magazine, Japan.

"...a maelstrom made of unexpected sounds ending in apotheosis with deep vocals, so deep, backed by deep guitar parts. Unbelievable singing from the canadian genius..." - Rock Hard, France

"In fact, it's a truly individual record from one of rock's great and hugely prolific non-conformists." - Kerrang!, UK

Amazing, uplifting, diverse, terrifying...

An absolutely incredible album. Devin once again takes us on a musical and emotional rollercoaster, revealing more of his diversity than on previous records. Devin is truly in a class of his own. Highlights: Truth, Bad Devil, Dynamics, Ants, Noisy Pink Bubbles.

An esoteric album you may or may not like
author: Blademaster Dezo
What makes "Infinity" a great record is also what makes some people dislike it. What I see as amazing musical diversity, others see as inconsistency. One thing's for sure, the album is never boring. Devin utilizes a hodgepodge of musical styles throughout the album and makes them all his own. There are catchy pop-rock tunes like "Christeen" which would be a serious radio hit. There are darker tracks like "War." There are tracks like "Noisy Pink Bubbles" that just defy categorization. The bonus tracks are great too. I really loved the song "Man" which is said to be a 1996 demo tune. Personally, I prefer "Biomech" and "Accelerated Evolution" over this as far as Devin Townsend works go, but this is certainly a terrific album for the open minded.

Inventive composition, dense production, excellent
author: Empathy
This is one of the most original recordings I've heard in a long while. The production is VERY thick; this album must have taken FOREVER to mix! At any rate, I first heard Devin on Steve Vai's Sex and Religion album, and it's good to hear him going strong on his own with this uniquely creative release. This one's going into heavy rotation on the CD changer...
