Reviews:
Hellfire Hymns, the second full length from Madison, Wisconsin's Those Poor Bastards, is a masterpiece of infernal atmosphere. The production creaks like a gallows pole, and the songs don't seem ancient as much as they seem otherworldly, crafted by damned souls on Hell's plain.
These songs speak of bloody redemption, of what befalls those who stray from the straight and narrow. As sanctified as the songs seem, you get the idea that Lonesome Wyatt and The Minister don't speak from a high horse, but from personal experience of the tribulations of the damned.
Let the death country revolution descend. A+ - Owl and Bear

This album is the first I've ever heard by Those Poor Bastards, but it has blown me away. These "poor bastards" have some deep seeded southern demons in them. Rock on! I'm addicted.

Amazing look at the blackness of reality
author: Jason Trimton
After listening to this album you will never see the world the same way again. No more will you see pretty flowers and puppy dogs. No more will you dream of falling in love. All you will see is the decay of society and the downward spiral rollercoaster to hell that we all stand in line for. There is something morbidly comforting in Lonesome Wyatts words, I don't know how the music industry ever survived without these doomsday preaching bastards.
