Nate and the Colonel was the 2004 “American Indian LA Film and Television Awards” winner for Best Picture. Terry Plumeri’s symphonic score for Nate and the Colonel, complete with Native American flutes and featuring the Moscow Philharmonic with lyrics by actor Lou Diamond Phillips, received such words of praise from director Paul Winters as, “Terry Plumeri is a director’s best friend. He has the ability to compose music for cinema that feels like it was created “in” the film. This is no small feat because the music for film must be very precise. Film scores must enhance and dance and shadow the actions, the emotions, and the intricate beats of a story evolving on screen. Plumeri’s music does just that…and more. Like a talented actor, Plumeri has the gift of “getting” what a story is about and he possesses the skill to turn that “getting” into music that lifts a film up and makes it “more” than it was before he touched it. Like I said, Terry Plumeri is a director’s best friend.”

This Wounded Land, music composed by Terry Plumeri and lyrics by Lou Diamond Phillips is a classic western love theme performed by acclaimed Broadway vocalist, June Angela.

In the past, Terry has composed the music to 54 films, including the score to the critically acclaimed crime story, One False Move. One False Move was Siskel and Ebert’s Film of the Year and received 5 nominations from the IFP Spirit Awards including Best Director and Best Original Score. One False Move is currently on the “New York Times List of the 1000 Best Films Ever Made.”

Es una de las mejores bandas sonoras que he escuchado hasta ahora y son muchas. Es muy gratificante comprobar como hay compositores que sin tener nombres tan conocidos como Goldsmith, Morricone, Bernstein, etc.. Hacen música tan buena o mejor que ellos. Es una pena que haya que descubrirlos casi por casualidad. Mi enhorabuena a Terry Plumeri por tan conmovedora música. Gracias.

Beautiful Themes

Close your eyes…listen to this music and you are there. You can feel the wide open spaces and the gutsy life of the 1800’s. This score has such beautiful themes, that carry you out of your modern street life and drop you in another time and place. The Native American flutes are played beautifully and lovely to hear above a warm bed of Moscow Philharmonic strings.

Great Western Score!!

This a great symphonic style western score in the tradition of the John Ford westerns. Lot's of cool moments with Native American flutes as well as large scale symphonic scoring. It also has a beautiful love theme with lyrics by Lou Diamond Phillips. Well worth having if you enjoy symphonic sound tracks.
