The debut from The Pleasures of Merely Circulating. Drawing from a broad array of influences--Jeanne (Robert Johnson, The Slits), Chris (Minutemen, Buddy Holly), and Robert (Beatles, Mahavishnu Orchestra)--The Pleasures channel a line of freakishly high energy that flows from Bo Diddley through "Helter Skelter" to The Stooges, Husker Du and beyond.
Some reviews of their previous four-song demo:
"kinetic, freewheeling, and a little bit dangerous ... a pleasure to the ears." Albuquerque Local IQ, Feb. 21, 2007.
"Smarmy female vocals join up with #$%&able guitars in a dangerous chemical reaction ... The trio rocks out with high energy punk rock" Smother Magazine March 31, 2007.
"Catchy songs...inspired by the likes of The Stooges, Husker Du, Mike Watt and Bo Diddley." The Listening Post (El Paso Times) Jan 24, 2007.
"Raw but still tuneful garage punky rock -- think The Jam's angrier bits plus nicely sneering female vocals, or maybe the Eyeliners with more sarcasm." Space City Rock, Jan 24, 2007.
