Tracey Browne is a 28-year-old singer-songwriter from Cambridge, UK. Her song-writing style has been described as somewhere between Suzanne Vega and Eddi Reader, but her voice does justice to songs ranging from Guns & Roses and Skunk Anansie, to Janis Joplin. This EP of 5 original songs showcases her eclectic songwriting, from the high-energy folk-pop of 'Beautiful Days' through to dramatic, piano-led dance infused 'Connected'. The title track 'The Cat and the Moon' is also a highlight, fast becoming a favourite with fans who have heard it live, for its simplicity and genuinely heartfelt lyrics.
From Tracey's Myspace page:
"2009 has brought a lot of positive change, and I have been putting the final touches to my new EP 'the cat and the moon' - I feel a special sense of achievement from this one, because I played every instrument, sang every note and edited and mixed the whole thing myself - with the notable exception of the fantastic beat that Jeremy from Aged Machine made for 'connected'. Hopefully we'll be doing some more collaborations in the future, but this one was spawned from the remnants of RPM Challenge 2008... and extra special thanks goes to the lady who has my heart, who inspired the joy in these songs - this record is just a small part of our story."
