Album Notes

One fine day on a crisp Saturday, September 24th back in 2004, just for fun, a bunch of us who are a part of the Inca Medicine Wheel Shamanic Healing tradition, decided to get together to record some of our favourite songs & chants that we share at Sacred Fire Ceremony as an Ayllu (community)...

We thought recording these wonderful songs would be one way new initiates in this sacred work could learn the songs easier... and we also thought that the sales from the CD could also raise funds for the Q'ero children & shaman elders in Peru as a way to say "thank you" to them for sharing their blessed medicine with us...

and so... in the spirit of Ayni with our teachers of the Ancient Knowledge ALL proceeds of the sale of this CD go to benefit the:

• Q'ero Shaman Elders "Sanctuary Project" of the Four Winds Society...

• and "Minka Vision", the Q'ero children's projects in Peru.

We are very grateful to David Campbell, (wwww.davidcampbellarts.com) a fellow keeper of the sacred fire, for his generosity in sharing his beautiful spoken-word poem, "Sing to Grandmother Moon" which starts this CD off.

The Tracker of Light Singers who participated in this special project are:

Beverley English, Carlin Favell, Cathie Levin, Susan McFarland, Nicole MacIntosh, Michelle Morris, Pat Owen, Valerie Owen, Robin Reid & carol weaver...

Tracker Musicians are: Claudette Laffey, Sandi Mikuse, drums & percussion & carol weaver, lead vocals, drums, percussion, guitar...

Recorded & Engineered by Brad Hampton & Henry Small at Small World Studios on September 25, 2004 in Kamloops BC, Canada.

...all of the above wonderful, generous folk gathered together and graciously gave their time to the creation of this project - we thank you!

...to be a part of this wonderful project... all of the women who gathered to give of their time and talents and huge hearts were awesome! We had such a blast pulling this off in that memorable just-one-day session... at one point the engineer was fanning the main door to the studio cuz it got so "hot" in there... i really enjoyed working with you all dear ayllu sisters... "hiyiyah.. i hear your voice!"
