Album Notes

Good Rain is my first album which was produced and recorded at Cellar Records in Dixon, Illinois. The genré of the album is best described as country/pop with a rock twist. It's truly what happens when country music meets the South side of Chicago. The album contains songs written by Bob Dellaposta of Nashville, Steve Vlcek of Chicago, and me.

My path into music was a bit different than you may think. I remember coming home, getting in the house, and just singing away when my mom came darting upstairs saying, "we have to do something with that!" I immediately thought I was in trouble because in my warbling dreamland I had forgotten my grandfather, who worked nights, was sleeping and my bellowing probably woke him. I quickly began to apologize and tried to sneak downstairs to hide from the bear I may have just disturbed out of hibernation when my mother said, "was that you singing?"

I replied, "Yes, and I am sorry, I will go outside and find something to do." I promptly gathered my teenage valuables and headed off to my best friends house to avoid any grizzly confrontations. This is when my mother and grandmother began to devise a scheme to get me in front of an audience. They knew I would never go willingly.

The following weekend my grandmother asked me to escort her to the store because she lost her glasses, again and would need help reading price tags. As we traveled, I noticed that we were not heading toward the store so I inquired about our destination. Gram was calm, said she had an errand to run prior to us getting to the store. Little did I know I was the errand! We ended up at the St. Jude's Players Group and before I knew it, I was auditioning and cast as Sandy in Grease.

Just as my mom and grandmother had hoped, the bug bit me and it bit me hard. I continued in theater through my college years at Aurora University leading the Drama Guild and participating in the Gospel Choir. I began writing my own songs and poems about anything and everything. At that time I could only dream of collaborating with other songwriters to create an album. In one hand, I hold the dream of completing my master's degree at Roosevelt University, while in the other hand I hold the dream that seemed so impossible years ago.

The CD Good Rain has a lot of songs that are heart-felt and bring forth REAL emotions. I love the song 'Loving You'. It's Tracylyn's voice not the words that hit you. This CD is a good one to listen to if you just want to experience raw emotion.

Nice mix of country/rock sound. This is not a standard country album, Sweet Charity is my personal favorite (although I know the artist, her pick is Once in a Heart). This new artist is worth a listen.
