Tracy Marie brings energy, enthusiasm and eclectic tastes to her pursuit of her art and her career in music. The Cleveland-based singer/songwriter/guitarist/keyboardist released her first full-length CD, Sheik European Assassin Woman, in 2000. The CD's 12 tracks showcase her range. "Whatever It Is" kicks off the album with full-tilt rock 'n' roll. Tunes like "Mary Do You Wanna" and "Piano" showcase her thoughtful, low-key singer/songwriter side, accented by live strings. "Piano" features original lyrics by TS Gavanditti. Others, like the sassy "Whore" and the torchy, bluesy "Symbol," feature fleshed-out full-band instrumentation. And "Woman in Love" has a heartfelt classic country feel. Independently released, the album delivers a gutsy variety of modern pop-rock original music.

Now that I have gotten the CD---- WHOA WHOA
author: J O N - R O S S
Tracy Marie is a compelling, brilliant artist. Bridging a seemingly improbable gap between some wildly disparate elements (I picked up folk-rock, new wave, gypsy caravan music, Enya, Madonna, and good old straight ahead rock and roll on the first listen) she has a style, sound, slant, hook, and look that will leave you breathless. I just got done spinning her CD "Sheik European Assassin Woman" for the first time and I am spinning it AGAIN. Hard-edged and melodic, intense and soothing, passionate and coolly humorous, Tracy Marie is one of those rare finds that are the reason why we tastemongers love our music. Unafraid to be completely experimental in structure and meter to make her points, she crosses textures and styles to make her own sound, and it is a beauteous one. "Nobody's Fool" takes you in 2 directions--- first it beguiles you in a swirling, major-toned puff of sweet guitar, and then drags you back to earth with a hard-edged minor refrain that surprises the ear and deepens the message of the song. I could go on and on about all of these tunes; from the dreamy "Highway" to the strident and pointed "All About The Family", from the skewed neo-classic "Whore" to the gypsy-caravan sweet sad mandolin of "Small Town Parade", but that would no doubt spoil the impact, so I will just add this: BUY IT. LOVE IT. LIVE IT. Is there a Tracy Marie fan club? Well, there is now, and I'm the prez. Oh, and she's really easy on the eyes too. A Big Star on the horizon.

Who needs American Idol or Star Search, when we have such a genuine talent right here in Cleveland, Ohio? I purchased the CD based upon a few things I heard on the internet, and have been very happy I did!!! Twenty listens later (maybe more!) and I am still blown away by the originality and talent that echoes throughout every song on this beautifully performed CD. Most musicians and songwriters could only dream of creating something this magnificent. If you haven't heard Tracy Marie yet, you are definitely missing something special. I would HIGHLY recommend this CD to everyone and anyone! :^)
