"Pan For Punks...A Steelpan Tribute To The Ramones" is a one of a kind tribute to one of the most influential bands of all time, the NYC punk rock legends "The Ramones".
Imagine 14 punk rock classics ripping through your speakers at warped speed, complete with 1-2-3-4 count offs, chants and shout outs in pure punk, fist raising abandon, all performed on the steelpans(or steel drums)strait from the islands!
The brain-child of Tracy Thornton, heavy metal drummer turned nationally renowned steelpannist(who produced and performed all the instuments on the disc), captures the fun and melodic essence of the Ramones through his clever and creative use of the steel drums while staying true to the rhythmic speed and attitude of punk rock music relying on his chops as a drummer from his heavy metal bashing days.
Beating out speedy Ramones' anthems like "Blitzkrieg Bop", "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker", and "Rockaway Beach", to the tender love song "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" and one dropping "Pinhead" in true raggae fashion on the island style steelpan, "Pan For Punks" takes you on a punk rock journey like never before.
Just imagine if CBGB's were located on one of the Caribbean islands-it would sound exactly like "Pan For Punks...A Steelpan Tribute To The Ramones"!
BONUS FEATURES: ALSO INCLUDED, THE DVD MUSIC VIDEO "BLITZKRIEG BOP"

My daughter, Morgan plays for the Kekionga Middle School Steel Drums and is a hugh fan of Tracy Thornton. I had to get it for her along with the Steeling Christmas CD. We have listened to them every day since we got them. They are both awesome!!!! Thanks for the fun!!

I had played one of Tracy's tunes "Dain Brammage" with my band a year or two ago. When I saw this disc, I knew I hadto get it, and it certainly met my expectations. Very fun to listen to, especially for a Ramones fan who knows the songs inside and out. Highly recommended
