excellent mix of rock/blues.

The name Train Wreck is a misnomer. These guys are anything but! The mix of rock and blues on the CD is excellent. It covers the gamut and throws in some raggae for good measure. The groove is handled nicely by Ringnell and Bloise. Trachtman is a pro on the guitar as well as vocally. Ebe Naylor cuts to the chase and though I personally liked the previous guitar player ALOT, Ebe did a good job complimenting Trachtman's playing. You don't want to miss this train! OK, well what do you say about a group of guys who call themselves "Train Wreck"? Hmm, well, as it applies to the music on their newest recorded offering "2nd Story", I would say that that the term "train wreck" would invoke music that is powerful, at times edgey and in your face, but always attention grabbing.
Starting off this disc is "Devil in the Night". It's a straight ahead blues rocker that would be a great tune for a movie featuring a beer slingin' roadhouse filled with rowdy bikers and and a brigade of Daisy Duke wearing hotties on the dance floor!
"Just Can't Lose" is a straight a head roots rocker that will make you want to jump in your late sixties muscle car convertible and do about 97mph through the desert with the top down and the music LOUD!
In my opinion, one of the highlights of this collection is definitely "Hey Mon", a reggae-esque tune that is executed with finesse and precision. Frank Bloise's drumming and Mike Ringnell's bass set down a groove that would be equally at home backing the Wailer's in Kingston, and Naylor and Trachtman's Clapton tinged guitar mastery and Trachtman's excellent, raw, powerful vocal delivery provide an interesting and inspiring texture that is a departure that fits in well with the straight up Blues and Rock that is offered on the reat of the disc.
I can't decide if the tune "Train Wreck Baby" is more remiscient of classic '70's AC/DC or Bluesy Aerosmith from the early years. Either way it ROCKS!
Buy this CD. It will make a great soundtrack to anything you have to do that requires FUN! And after you've bought the CD, go to Arizona and see these guys live. I was glad I did!
