Monte Emerson known now as “Trance” Emerson began writing music at an early age. He began composing on paper without ever hearing it performed. Unsatisfied with his results he was introduced to a music software package that led him down his life-long pursuit of Electronic Music.
In 1994 Emerson received a standing ovation from his classmates at graduation for his performance of his original composition “The Real Things” which he transcribed to paper prior to his performance. In the Electronic Music forums on MSN in 1996 Monte Emerson was awarded Song of the Month for writing “Robot Voices”. In 2005 Emerson’s Powerball album was featured on Positive talk radio on 1150AM with Dr. Pat where he discussed his motivation for writing music, and the reasons he felt music was an important role in everyday life to help reduce stress. In 2006 Emerson was awarded the “500,000 MP3 Downloads” on knobtweakers.net the website of his former record label for raking in more than 500,000 downloads of “Force of Nature” featured on Powerball in a period of 8 months. Today he composes a blend of Trance and Drum and Bass which is currently holding the #1 Indie artist placeholder in Washington State on MySpace music under Trance for which Emerson says “It’s no surprise that when you make music because it’s fun, people love it!”

The mixture of melody and progression with moderate to heavy dance rhythms is designed for a multipurpose mix. Emerson’s Powerball provides a quality listening experience for reflection, while giving freedom for the listeners to get up and dance.
