Album Notes

I'm probably not your typical songwriter because my tunes are often quirky little short stories with a slightly gnarled sense of humor. Even though my work is rarely autobiographical, I can’t help but expose my hobbies and interests through my lyrics. Among some of the things I've written about are serial killers, my love of science fiction, my dogs, my fascination with pop culture and I've even written a song about the wacky world of myspace. If I'm into it.... I’ll write about.

Music has always been a central part of my life since I was five years old recording myself singing to my bubble gum record collection. After years of honing my writing skills I've decided to share my music for the first time on the net. The Beatles were my Songwriting 101 professors who gave me a fantastic education on what makes a great tune. I've been inspired by soul singers like Al Green, country artists like Willie Nelson and Hank William Sr., and even pop icons like Elvis and Buddy Holly.

First and foremost, I wish to write catchy melodies that are as powerful in a full musical arrangement as they are with just an acoustic guitar and little old me. Then I try to incorporate lyrics that rise above clichés. They'll be no rhyming "love" with "dove" or "above" around here. So if you're open to a new approach to songwriting please give my music a shot and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
